Lead the Renewable Revolution and Repower Your School: Online Meeting
Australia is the windiest and sunniest continent on earth, and scientists tell us that transitioning to 100% renewables in the next 10 years is 100% possible. Yet our government is lagging on the innovative policies we need to do this, allowing new coal-mining and fracking projects, which endanger our future, to go ahead.
On Wednesday, October 9 at 5pm, join our online meeting with Toby and Kal, two students from Houn Valley, Tasmania and Sydney, NSW, who helped their schools transition to 100% renewable energy. They’ll share their journey with you so that you can do the same, and we can show our government how easy it is to go 100% renewable by starting with our own schools!
You’ll be joined by school students from across Australia. Equipped with knowledge and determination, we’ll change the course of climate action in Australia, one community at a time!
WHAT: Toby and Kal will talk you through the separate research, campaigning and fundraising processes they went through to get solar panels on their schools. They’ll let you know the great results their work has had, and talk you through any questions you might have about getting your school repowered.
WHO: All high school students who care about a safe climate future (like you!), particularly those in regional, remote and non-capital cities.
***This event is for high school students ONLY - other young people please sign up here to be part of the youth climate movement: https://www.aycc.org.au/volunteer
WHEN: October 9, at 5pm (Melbourne time)
WHERE: Online via Zoom video conference - register on the panel to the right and we’ll email you the code closer to the day!
